Aircraft Hiring

FJF is normally based at the RAAF Richmond (YSRI) where it is primarily available for private hire and advanced flight training for members of the RAAF Richmond Flying Club (RRFC), NSW, Australia.

Approved Pilots who are not RRFC Members can also arrange to hire FJF through the Australian Aerobatic Academy at Bankstown (YSBK).

The aircraft can also be direct hired by approved pilots who are not RRFC members for trips away or training in blocks of flights of 5 hours or greater. Interested pilots may contact FJF's owner (David) at owner@deb4hire.com.au

To be Approved to hire FJF, pilots need to hold a current PPL (or higher) with minimum of 25HRS as PIC on any 150+ HP Lycoming or Continental, and pass a check ride or complete a MPPC/RU Endorsement in FJF with the Owner or other approved Instructor. For currency, a minimum of 30 mins flight time plus 1 Takeoff/Landing in FJF is required in the previous 90days

MPPC/Retractable Training

The Owner is also a qualified flight instructor and provides training and issue of Manual Propeller Pitch Control (MPPC) & Retractable Undercarriage (RU) Design Feature Endorsements in FJF. Training for RRFC Members is usually done from Richmond. Otherwise training for other non Club pilots can be arranged with the Owner from another convenient airport in the Greater Sydney Area, such as Bankstown or Camden. CASA Regulations define training for Design Feature Endorsements as a Private Operation, and can be conducted independently to a Flying School.

The course of competency based training follows the elements and performance criteria as outlined in CASA Schedule 2 of Part 61 Manual of Standards for Design Feature Endorsements Manual Propeller Pitch Control (DFE3), and, Retractable Undercarriage (DFE2). The training course consists of Ground School covering the general Theory Basics and Practical Operation for MPPC & RU systems typical in GA, with focus specifically on Beechcraft series aircraft, together with a sequence of flight training covering normal and emergency operations. As with all competency based training, flight hours vary depending on pilots experience. As a guide, most pilots typically complete the course within 3 to 5 hours flight time.
